Jamboree 2010 Register HERE

I got this off of www.circle10.org. Online registration for the Jamboree is live. You will need your BSA member number to sign up for an account if you do not have one already. The BSA member number is on your troop membership card you get each year. Your troop records keeper or membership chair should have it too.

The 2010 Jamboree iscentered around the 100th year celebration of Scouting in the United States. It will be the central point culminating months of pre-celebrations of the accomplishments of Scouting in the United States. You should anticipate some exciting arena shows and jamboree activities surrounding this milestone.

The 2010 Circle Ten tour and attendance at the National Scout Jamboree will begin on Wednesday, July 21st with a return on Wednesday, August 4th, 2010 at Fort A.P. Hill. The fort is located close to Fredericksburg, Va., just south of Washington, D.C. In previous jamboree trips to this site, the Circle Ten contingent troops have taken a 5 day tour prior to the jamboree. The tour has included time in New York City and Washington, D.C. Details of the jamboree tour and duration are being finalized and will be released soon.

Circle Ten has been allocated 15 troops for the 2010 Jamboree. This will again be the largest contingent from the Southern region. Space is limited, so apply early and often. With the 100 year celebration of Scouting as the major focus of the jamboree, Circle Ten anticipates the contingent will fill even quicker than prior events. Adult leaders desiring to attend will be required to recruit 9 or more Scouts who submit applications and deposits and be approved by Circle Ten’s Jamboree Committee.

The contingent troop leadership will be fully trained in all aspects of this event. Before the Jamboree, troops will be prepared by developing themselves into cohesive teams following the leadership principles and ideals of Scouting. Scouting at Its Best for the Next Century, will be the theme of our contingent and challenge to deliver a truly memorable experience for the Scouts of Circle Ten.
